Rebecca Zahau, 32, was found dead at her boyfriend Jonah Shacknai's mansion in Coronado, California, in 2011.
Her nude body was discovered hanging from a balcony, with her wrists and ankles bound, two days after Shacknai's six-year-old son suffered a fatal fall in the house.
Authorities ruled Zahau's death a suicide, but her family disputed this. A civil jury later found Shacknai's brother Adam responsible, although the case was subsequently settled and the official suicide ruling remained unchanged.
